ABOUT THE CONTEMPLATIVE STUDIES NETWORK

The contemplative studies network is a network of practitioners of diverse contemplative and psychological traditions; from transpersonal psychology and religious practice traditions, to secular therapeutic modalities. This organisation meets to share scholarship, develop collaborative projects, and explore contemplative technologies.

The contemplatve studies network provides a meeting space for nconventional interdisciplinary encounters, where researchers and practitioners enrich one another in their understanding of the psyche, artistic exploration and contemplative wisdom traditions. These conferences constitute a meeting place for an open-hearted and interdisciplinary dialogue; generating new pathways of research and collective sense-making..

CSNis a multidisciplinary laboratory for investigating the nature of experience — personal and collective, “first-person” and “third-person,” intersubjective and intrasubjective. We are inspired by cutting-edge theoretical frameworks and methodologies that have grown out of the enactive approach, which takes seriously the continuity between life and mind, body and cognition, theory and practice, and epistemology and ethics. Our aim is to develop practices that surpass the limits of orthodox mind science and advance more nuanced and comprehensive understandings of our minds, the world, and human interactions.

“We are asleep. Our Life is a dream. But we wake up sometimes, just enough to know that we are dreaming.”

― Ludwig Wittgenstein
